Williams College

The campus and its surroundings portray a picture postcard of New England. The Bernhard Music Center has 24 practice rooms and several rehearsal and teaching studios, all air-conditioned. Faculty and student concerts take place in the acoustically superb Chapin Hall, a historical and character filled concert venue.

In addition to the beauty of its geographical location, Williamstown provides the visitor with a variety of cultural attractions: Williams College Museum of Art, Chapin Rare Book Library, Williamstown Theatre Festival, and the Clark Art Institute. The Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art is located nearby in North Adams, a five-minute drive. Within an hour’s drive one can visit Tanglewood, summer home of the Boston Symphony.

Indoor recreational facilities on campus include basketball courts, squash courts, a 50-meter swimming pool, a weight room, a fitness center, and a 1/16-mile track. Outdoor facilities include numerous tennis courts, a basketball court, a running track, and hiking trails. Golf, bowling, boating, and fishing are available off campus.

There is a great variety of restaurants in town, where visitors can enjoy a wide range of culinary experiences: American, Italian, Indian, Mexican, Greek, Chinese, Japanese, French, and Thai cuisine. In addition, there are several cafes, bakeries, and ice cream parlors.

Full medical services are provided at the North Adams Regional Hospital.

Mount Holyoke College

Mount Holyoke’s campus is recognized as one of the most beautiful in the nation by the Princeton Review. Located in the Pioneer Valley, the college is surrounded by the hilly terrain of western Massachusetts. South Hadley, Mount Holyoke’s home since 1837, is a charming New England town with roots going back to pre-Revolutionary times. Across the street from the main campus, the Village Commons is home to a variety of retail boutiques, several restaurants, a coffee house, a first-run movie theater, and the renowned Odyssey Bookshop. Just a few miles away, Skinner Park offers spectacular views of the valley and the Connecticut River’s famous Oxbow from atop Mount Holyoke.

Pratt Music Hall offers rehearsal and performance spaces, teaching studios, and practice rooms, all of which are air conditioned.

Mount Holyoke’s 800 acre campus offers miles of scenic trails for running and two lakes for canoeing. The 130,000 square foot Kendall Sports and Dance Complex offers an eight lane, 25 meter pool, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, racquetball, squash and volleyball courts, indoor and outdoor tracks, and grass playing fields for soccer and softball.

Holyoke Hospital, located 5 miles from the campus, provides a full range of medical services.
